Our Background
I was born and raised in Wazirabad, Pakistan. After completing high school, I moved to Lahore to pursue higher education and earned my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College.
Following graduation, I completed my house job rotations in Medicine, Surgery, and Otolaryngology. I subsequently served as an Additional Registrar in the Department of Otolaryngology commonly known as ENT at Services Hospital Lahore. I also had the opportunity to serve the community of Chak 31/11 near Chichawatni before immigrating to the United States.
From 1997 to 1998, I attended the University of California, Berkeley. In June 1998, I moved to Alabama and began my psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology. I later continued my association with the department as a Clinical Professor.
